Some of the city’s neighborhoods are over 100 years old and strongly reflect the Caribbean and Latin American influences.   As a result, Miami has a wonderful eclectic mix of historic architecture and buildings visible in neighborhoods such as Coconut Grove, Lemon City and the magic of Little Haiti.

Family Friendly

Miami is a haven for family life with an excellent array of destinations and events for children such as the Sequarium, Monkey Jungle, Zoo, Jungle Land and the many parks that provide children-friendly activities. Miami-Dade County Public Schools is the fourth largest school district in the United States, comprised of 392 schools, 345,000 students and over 40,000 employees. Located at the southern end of the Florida peninsula, the schools include a diverse range of students speaking over 56 languages and representing 160 countries. 

The Business Community

In 2012, Miami was termed an ‘Alpha-World City’, noted for its importance in the global economy and has been named the richest city in the United States. It is a major business hub and is home to a strong international business community including the headquarters of many large corporations such as Celebrity Cruises, American Airlines, Disney and AIG. Miami is a large TV, film and music production center. Miami Airport and PortMiami are the nation’s busiest ports of entry and the city has the largest concentration of international banks in the country.
