Homes for Sale in Boynton Beach

Boynton Beach was first recognized in the late 1800s as an area of extreme natural beauty with its year-round sunshine and beautiful beaches.  Since then, Boynton Beach has grown into Palm Beach County’s third largest city with over 70,000 residents nestled between Delray Beach and Palm Beach.  Boynton Beach enjoys a sub-tropical climate, and boasts #1 rated beaches (Palm Beach Post) with Ocean Front Park classified as one of South Florida’s most attractive beaches.  The city is renowned for its wide variety of cultural and seaside recreational activities.  From the Boynton Beach Inlet, that provides access to some of The Palm Beaches most beautiful coral and artificial reefs, to a comprehensive ‘Catch A Free Event’ program offering various free family events throughout the year, the city is an increasingly popular destination for both residents and tourists looking for a better life.  Regarded as the original ‘Old Florida’ for its charm and intimacy, Boynton Beach is now regarded as a thriving and growing community. In response to this growth, the Boynton Beach downtown area is undergoing a strong redevelopment effort including a newly approved plan to help create a re-designed downtown area.   Boynton Beach is also listed on Sperling’s Best Places in Florida.

Population of Boynton Beach

Boynton Beach is a growing, dynamic city. The city’s location close to Miami and its position on the ocean attracts new residents yearly, and is home to couples, families and retirees boasting a wide range of age groups. The popularity of Boynton Beach in Florida is due to the town’s versatility; whether you are looking for seaside recreation, exciting nightlife, outdoor activities, shopping or cultural events, Boynton Beach has something for everyone.

Activities & Events

Boynton Beach offers many activities and events for both residents and visitors.  The city’s ‘Catch a FREE Event’ program offers year-round family-friendly free events such as movies, live music, parades, spring egg hunts, arts and crafts, cultural presentations and fitness events.  The city is also known for its large-scale events such as the holiday tree lighting ceremony, the winter Holiday Parade, “Pirate Fest & Mermaid Splash” event, and 4th of July festivities in the summer.

The arts scene is active in Boynton Beach and much of this is thanks to the artists who left Miami for the more attractive lifestyle offered by Boynton Beach. The Arts District has blossomed in the old industrial area of the city, and former warehouses along Industrial Avenue are now filled with vibrant and colourful art studios and galleries.  The city hosts a monthly Art Walk through the Arts District and also sponsors the “Art in Public Places” program to encourage the integration of arts into the wider community.

Outdoor Life

Boynton Beach has always been recognized for its beautiful beaches and the city works hard to keep them pristine and accessible to visitors and residents.  There are several parks that offer water and beach access, and the most famous of these is the Boynton Beach Oceanfront Park featuring its charming boardwalk.  One of the most unique of the city parks is Mangrove Park which is home to manatees and a variety of wildlife.  Another popular outdoor resource is the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge that hosts the annual Everglades Day – an eco-adventure for the whole family.

The city is redeveloping the Boynton Harbor Marina, just a half-mile south of Boynton Inlet.  The new marina offers water activities such as fishing and scuba diving charters, dining options and jet-ski rentals.

Many residents also take advantage of The Links at Boynton Beach, a public golf course that boasts an 18-hole Championship Course and a 9-hole Family Course as well as a full pro shop, practice greens and PGA professional staff.

Historic Districts

Boynton Beach recognizes the importance of historic preservation and has recently started a historic preservation program to ensure that the unique buildings and character of the town are retained as the city grows.  The City of Boynton Beach Heritage Education Program hosts a website with online resources such as maps of the city’s two Heritage Trails as well as a list of historic sites in Boynton Beach.
